- Prepare Your Clips: Import all the video clips you want to use into
Kdenlive.
- Create Multiscreen Layout:
- Go to the Project Bin and right-click to add a new Video Track.
You’ll need four tracks for a 2x2 layout.
- Place each video clip on a separate track, aligning them on the
timeline where you want them to play simultaneously.
- Resize and Position Clips:
- Select a clip, go to the Effects tab, and add the Transform effect.
- Use the Position and Size parameters to resize each clip to half the
width and half the height of the project resolution.
- Position each clip so that they form a 2x2 grid.
- Add Text Overlays:
- Use the Title tool to create text overlays. You can access this tool
from the Project Menu or the toolbar.
- Create a title clip for each source and place it above the
corresponding video clip on the timeline.
- Adjust the position and size of the text within the title clip
editor to fit within the boundaries of the video it corresponds to.
- Export Your Video: Once you’re satisfied with the compilation, go to
Render and choose your desired output settings to export your final
video.
- Add Your Clip to the Timeline: Drag your video clip from the
Project Bin to the timeline.
- Select the Clip: Click on the clip in the timeline to select
it.
- Find the Cut Points:
- Play the clip in the Project Monitor and pause at the
point where you want to make the first cut.
- You can use the right/left arrow keys to move frame by
frame for precision.
- Cut the Clip:
- Use the Razor Tool (scissors icon) or press the **‘X’
key** on your keyboard to activate it.
- Click on the clip at the desired point to make a cut.
- If you need to cut at a specific timecode, you can manually enter
the time in the Project Monitor’s timecode widget.
- Remove Unwanted Parts:
- Select the part of the clip you want to remove by clicking on it.
- Press the **‘Delete’ key** or right-click and select
**‘Remove’**.
- Fine-Tuning:
- If you need to adjust the cut, you can click and drag the edges of
the clip to the desired frame.
- Use the Spacer Tool if you need to create gaps or move
multiple clips simultaneously.
- Repeat for Other Clips: Follow the same process for each
clip you need to cut.
